Sara Strother is an art educator at Mound Westonka High School. In addition to her classroom teaching, Strother is active in developing an art curriculum designed to aid in the mainstreaming of special education students. Strother has a BFA in Art Education from University of Minnesota-Duluth and will have a Master’s Degree in Arts in Education from University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) Department of Curriculum and Instruction come May 2017.
Prior to teaching at Mound Westonka, Strother taught at the Claddagh National School in Galway, Ireland and studied cross-cultural arts education pedagogy in Sweden, Estonia and Finland as part of the University of Minnesota’s Northern Lights: Art Education Study Abroad Program. She has been a speaker at the Art Educators of Minnesota Conference and the National Art Education Conference. At the University of Minnesota-Duluth, she was honored with the Dedicated Service Award for her work as Vice President of the campus Art Education Club.
