Dr. Kendeou has been studying the cognitive processes underlying reading comprehension for more than 10 years. She is Associate Editor of the Journal of Educational Psychology and serves on the editorial boards of several additional academic journals. Dr. Kendeou is also a member of the European Association of Research in Learning and Instruction (EARLI), the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Society for Text and Discourse (ST&D), the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR) and the Psychonomic Society. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Cyprus before earning her master’s and doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Kendeou was the recipient of the Tom Trabasso Young Investigator award honoring excellence in research from the Society for Text & Discourse.
