Our Partners
The University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is proud to partner with leading organizations to ensure that all children have the opportunity to be educated, healthy, and productive global citizens. Some of our partners and their projects include:
3M & STEM Fellowship Program
Improving science and math education in the U.S. has been identified as a critical concern. Research shows that U.S. students are behind students in other industrialized nations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. We have a vested interest in successfully educating K-12 students in STEM concepts, and with the generous support of the 3M Foundation, the University of Minnesota’s STEM Education Center is able to provide graduate STEM fellowships. The financial contribution of 3M allows CEHD graduate students to work with targeted schools to improve student success in STEM areas.

Target & PRESS Literacy Program
Aimed at preparing all Minneapolis Public School students to read by the third grade, PRESS (Path to Reading Excellence in School Sites) is grounded in a research-based approach to literacy. The Minnesota Center for Reading Research (MCRR) at CEHD partners with the Target Corporation to bring rich educational literacy and reading comprehension resources to six Minneapolis public schools. The Target Corporation is donating $6 million to fund PRESS and other district literacy programs over a three-year span. CEHD is proud to partner with the Target Corporation, as we work together to achieve early literacy for all students.
